| Mission Our mission here at ParaFX is to foster a friendly environment where beginner and medium level digital graphic artists can come to show off their work and get help with their work WITHOUT the fear of overly harsh comments by more "seasoned" graphic artists. Above all, if you look through our gallery and see signatures that you think are better than your do not get discouraged. We all started in the exact same place you are now. You will get better and if you need specific individual help along the way feel free to send a note to one of the staff or even another member. We hold Signature of the Bi-Week contests, periodic Avatar contests, periodic Wallpaper contests, and any other type of contest our creative minds can come up with. So why ParaFX. The answer is simple. In our case para stands for "paranormal" which in our case does not mean ghosts, UFOs, the Loch Ness Monster, etc. Instead the term paranormal denotes something beyond one's "normal" experience. Thus as a GFX community we are not normal in that we are not founded by nor geared towards art experts. ___________________________ Helpful Group Links Deviant Art Rules & Guidelines: [link] Where Do I Put My Art? We have folders set up to make our gallery look as nice and organized as possible. If you're submitting something into our gallery, make sure you know where to place it. If you see something out of place, feel free to contact a staff member. Featured SOTM winners go here get their work copied here. Members cannot submit to this folder. Small Art Any art, digital or not, that is 500px by 500px or smaller. This includes sprite sheets as individually they fit this size. Large Art Any art, digital or not, that is over 500px by 500px. If the submission is huge (like 5000px by 5000px) please submit them in the correct folders. Resources Graphic resources go here such as Tutorials, renders, stocks, brushes, PSDs... ect. YOUR SIGNATURE/WALLPAPER DOES NOT COUNT AS A RESOURCE Personal Projects Miscellaneous content (artwork that don't properly belong to any of the folders), tagwalls, etc. Photo manipulations Manipulation of photos taken with a camera or stock images that are not designed to be wallpapers or signatures. Literature Literature of any kind, i.e. fanfiction, poems, shorts, etc. |
